Hey there! I’m the recipe creator, blog writer, and designer behind God Given Ingredients, a blog focused on healthy, family-friendly recipes and natural foods that actually make you feel good. My journey with food got real when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at 26. This diagnosis meant I had to stop breastfeeding my firstborn earlier than I’d wanted, and at 27, I had my thyroid removed. Afterward, keeping my weight in check was a battle. For a while, running 20 miles a week helped—until I injured my knee, and I needed a new path to wellness.
That’s when I discovered that whole foods and natural ingredients were my key to health. By focusing on simple, healthy recipes full of God-given ingredients, I found a way to keep the weight off—and even lose some! I also realized that many people, especially those with hypothyroidism, needed a realistic, family-friendly diet they could enjoy.
That’s why I created God Given Ingredients, to share delicious, wholesome recipes that support real health and energy for everyday life. From easy dinners to natural snacks and healthy desserts, everything here has been rigorously tested in my own kitchen. I promise you won’t find recipes focused on quantity over quality; instead, I post only what’s been tested, loved, and is truly satisfying.

I live in a small town in Missouri with my husband, 3 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 horses. I love cooking healthy meals and raising my own food, even while working full-time and juggling life as a busy mom. In my spare time, I fill this site with recipes for you to enjoy.
