Alabama White Sauce Goes With Chicken Like Butter Goes With Bread
There’s something magical about the smoky, charred flavor of charcoal-grilled chicken that really ignites my taste buds. For this Alabama White Sauce Chicken recipe, we start with a marinade and then season the chicken breasts with a blend of chipotle, onion and garlic powders. Then when the juicy chicken comes off the grill we drizzle them with an easy Alabama White Sauce.
Here’s why I love Alabama White Sauce Chicken!
- Its crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
- The marinade is the key to perfectly done chicken breasts.
- The rub is simple.
Alabama White Sauce Chicken is best served with rice, smoked mashed potatoes or Cheesy Jalapeno Grits.
How is Alabama White Sauce Chicken Made
First, you want to mix up the marinade and let the chicken breasts soak for 1-2 hours or overnight. Don’t go longer than 24 hours, because it negetively effects the texture and flavor.
Next, dry your chicken off with a paper towel and sprinkle your seasonings all over it. Let this sit while you preheat the grill-charcoal or gas are both fine.
Add the chicken breasts to the grill and heat around 6-8 minutes per side. Don’t remove the chicken until it has reached 165°F for safety. Be careful not to overcook it, as chicken breasts can dry out pretty fast after that.
Serve the chicken with this easy Alabama White Sauce.
