Basil Mint Tomato Soup With Honey
Basil Mint Tomato Soup with Honey is a fresh twist, blending sweet honey, basil, and mint for a unique and flavorful bowl.
So, I recently went on a delightful cruise where I had this incredible tomato soup—it was perfectly sweet but not overly sugary, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it! Once I got home, I had to recreate it! I call it Basil Mint Tomato Soup with Honey. Instead of using refined sugar, I swapped in honey for a natural sweetness, added a hint of mint for a fresh twist, and, of course, included fragrant fresh basil to tie it all together. It turned out amazing, and now it’s my new go-to comfort food when I want something cozy yet with a touch of flair.

What’s in Basil Mint Tomato Soup?
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil

- Chicken Stock – I used homemade for added depth.
- Fresh Mint Leaves – to brighten the flavor.

- Seasonings: Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Paprika, Marjoram, and Thyme.
- Heavy Whipping Cream – for a creamy finish.
Recipe Substitutions And Notes
- Mint can be quite potent, but it adds significant depth to the soup. Feel free to adjust the amount based on your taste preference.
- Fresh Basil truly elevates this soup. While you can substitute with 2 teaspoons of dried basil, the flavor profile won’t be the same, so use fresh if possible.
Step-by-Step Process for Making Basil Mint Tomato Soup
- Sauté Onions and Garlic: Start by cooking the onions and garlic in olive oil until they are translucent and aromatic.
- Combine Ingredients: Add all the remaining ingredients—except for the heavy cream—into the pot. Let the mixture heat for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Blend Until Smooth: If you prefer a velvety texture, use an immersion blender to puree the soup to your desired consistency.
- Add Cream and Serve: Stir in the heavy cream for a rich, comforting finish. Serve it up with a side of grilled cheese for the perfect meal!
