Using an air fryer is awesome! This method delivers that satisfying crunch we all crave while using far less oil. So, say goodbye to greasy fries and hello to a healthier version! Pair them with a luscious garlic aioli or a spicy garlic dip, and you’ve got an irresistible treat perfect for gatherings, snacks, or as a side to your favorite meal.

Here’s why I love making my own french fries in the air fryer!

  • Reduced Oil Usage: Air frying significantly cuts down on oil, resulting in lower fat content and fewer calories. Enjoy your fries guilt-free!
  • Vinegar Soak: Soaking the potatoes in vinegar not only enhances flavor but may also help lower their glycemic index, reducing the impact on blood sugar.
  • Healthier Fats: If you use avocado oil, you’ll benefit from heart-healthy monounsaturated fats that support overall well-being.
  • Herb Infusion: Adding rosemary not only boosts flavor but also provides antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, making your fries not just tasty but also nutritious.
  • Control Over Ingredients: Cooking at home means you can choose high-quality, organic ingredients and control the amount of salt, making your fries even healthier.

Notes
My air fryer basket allows for air flow around the whole French fries so I don’t have to turn them over. If you do not have that luxury, flip them halfway through air frying for even crispness.
Substitutions
I suggest using russet potatoes for best results.
