You know those recipes you can’t get enough of? Loaded Greek Chicken Burgers are exactly that! These mouthwatering burgers are packed with kalamata olives, creamy feta cheese, and crunchy red onion, then air-fried to perfection for a game-changing meal. Seriously, they’re so easy to whip up that I was canning turnips, baking homemade hamburger buns, and frying crispy French fries all while these delicious burgers were cooking. Talk about multitasking! They’re the ultimate weeknight meal that you’ll keep coming back to again and again.
How To Make Loaded Greek Chicken Burgers
You can whip these up in no time! When I made these this time, I was canning turnips and making hamburger buns at the same time. They are so easy to make and come together nicely without a lot of fuss. Below you can see the ingredients you will need and the instructions for air frying the burgers, which is the method I highly recommend.
Ingredients In Loaded Greek Chicken Burgers
- Ground Chicken or turkey
- Kalamata Olives – finely chopped
- Red Onion – diced
- Feta Cheese Crumbles – adds a creamy tang
- Greek Seasoning – a blend of spices that elevates flavor
Greek Chicken Burger Seasoning
This flavorful seasoning blend is perfect for 1 lb of ground chicken or turkey. You can use it in burgers or meatballs. The tomato powder adds a lot of flavor, but feel free to omit it; the burgers still taste fantastic!
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- ½ tsp dried dill (or 1-2 tsp fresh dill)
- ½ tsp dried oregano (or 2-3 tsp fresh chopped oregano)
- ½ tsp dried thyme (or 2-3 sprigs of fresh thyme leaves)
- ½ tsp dried basil (or 2-3 tbsp fresh chopped basil)
- ½ tsp tarragon
- ½ tsp tomato powder (or dried tomato soup powder)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
Cooking Instructions
I highly recommend cooking these burgers in the air fryer for a healthier option. One secret that I have found helps keep the burgers from falling apart is to freeze them before air frying. This method ensures they stay juicy and cook a little slower than they would otherwise.
- Preheat air fryer to 400℉. At this temperature, I find the burgers cook within 20 minutes; the outsides brown nicely while the insides remain juicy.
- To air fry my Greek Chicken Burgers, I line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, place the burgers on the pan, and cook for 10 minutes. Flip the burgers and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
- They are done when they reach an internal temperature of 165-170℉.
Recipe Substitutions And Notes
- Eggs: I do NOT use eggs in my chicken burgers because I think it makes them slimy, and I don’t believe they need it to stay together if you freeze them first.
