Ingredients
- Ground beef
- Baking soda
- Cinnamon
- Paprika
- Salt
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Chipotle powder (homemade recommended)
- Black pepper
- Sweet slider rolls
- Provolone cheese
- Mayonnaise (seed oil free)
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Thin onion straws
- Pickled red onions
- Barbecue sauce
- Egg (slightly beaten)
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350℉. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set it aside to prepare for baking.
- Prepare the Beef: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 lb of ground beef with baking soda. Mix it well and let it sit for 15 minutes. This crucial step helps the beef retain moisture and ensures a beautifully browned slider rather than a steamed one. After 15 minutes, add the beef to a preheated skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meat, breaking it apart with a spatula until it’s no longer pink.
- Season the Beef: In a small bowl, whisk together cinnamon, paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, ½ tsp chipotle powder, and black pepper. Add this flavorful spice mix to the ground beef, stirring well to combine.
- Assemble the Sliders: Place the bottoms of 12 sweet slider rolls on the parchment-lined cookie sheet. Layer provolone cheese over the rolls, then spread mayonnaise on top. Next, add the seasoned ground beef mixture over the mayonnaise, followed by shredded cheddar cheese. For an extra zing, top with pickled red onions and a generous amount of crispy thin onion straws. Finally, drizzle barbecue sauce over everything before placing the top half of the slider rolls on top.
- Brush and Bake: Brush the tops of the assembled sliders with the slightly beaten egg, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top for that perfect finishing touch. Bake at 350℉ for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted, and the tops of the buns are golden brown.
- Serve and Enjoy: Pull apart the sliders and marvel at the layers of flavor in each bite. With crispy onion straws and the tangy kick of pickled red onions, these sliders are not just a feast for your palate but also a visual delight. Get ready to dig into a culinary adventure that promises to take your burger experience to a whole new level!
