This Zesty Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing is the healthier twist on traditional ranch, that will help you cut calories without sacraficing too much flavor. It’s super easy to make:

Start with Greek yogurt (full-fat, because life’s too short for bland dressing), then hit it with a splash of lemon juice, white wine vinegar, and a smidge of dijon mustard to wake it up. Buttermilk powder makes it creamy. Toss in garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, dill, and chives—basically, all the ranchy goodness you love—then add a pinch of salt, pepper, and a dash of hot sauce if you’re feeling spicy.

Here’s why I don’t totally hate this Zesty Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing:

  • It’s Got the Ranch Flavors: Parsley, dill, and that tangy kick.
  • It’s Creamy: Thanks to powdered buttermilk.
  • Zesty and Spicy: Honestly, it’s close enough to the real deal that I use it a lot when I’m cutting calories.
  • Way Fewer Calories: It’s 77% of the calories of regular ranch dressing and packs twice the protein.

So here’s the skinny: Ranch dressing isn’t ranch dressing without mayo, and Greek yogurt is always hyped as the perfect alternative. Let me tell you, that’s bullshit. It doesn’t taste as good as full-fat mayo, and it’s not as creamy. So, don’t kid yourself.

That said, if you’re trying to lose weight and get in shape, it’s a great swap to make. Suck it up for a while, use Greek yogurt instead of mayo, and when you hit your goal weight, you can bring back some of your favorite low-calorie mayo—just leave out the damn seed oils, okay?

I know this sounds super annoying, but I haven’t used store bought dressings in over a year and a half. Frequently Asked Questions

Sure, but let’s be real—full-fat tastes way better. If you’re watching calories, non-fat works, but you might want to add a little olive oil to bring back some creaminess.

You could skip it, but then you’re missing out on that ultra-creamy, tangy ranch texture. Trust me, it’s worth it. Plus, it lasts forever in your pantry!

Absolutely! Add more hot sauce or throw in a pinch of cayenne pepper. Ranch doesn’t have to be mild if you like to live dangerously.

It’ll keep for about a week if stored in an airtight container—but good luck not eating it all in two days.

Double-check your yogurt! Make sure it’s plain and unsweetened—vanilla Greek yogurt ranch is a crime against humanity.
