👩‍🍳Peach Bourbon Margarita will be your new go-to drink this summer

Brant loves a glass of bourbon at the end of a long day. He’s got a few dozen bottles of various flavors in our liquor cabinet and the bourbon case is always on our list of stops when we go to Sam’s club. So needless to say he has a pretty good collection of both full and empty bourbon bottles.

I’m not a big bourbon drinker myself, but I do like the way some of the flavors smell. There’s this one that has a warm, caramel note that I actually kind of love. His favorite is Buffalo Trace. One year, I had a lazy Susan made from the top of a Buffalo Trace whiskey barrel for his birthday. Another year, I got him a whiskey decanter and a set of rocks glasses with our last name etched on them. They’re beautiful, classic and a little fancy, just like he deserves.

Anyway, back to me not loving the taste of bourbon. I had picked up a bunch of fresh peaches to make some of my favorite summer recipes, and Brant, knowing how much I love a good margarita, decided to experiment. He blended one of those peaches into a cocktail and surprised me with this Peach Bourbon Margarita.

I was skeptical, but y’all… I couldn’t even taste the bourbon (I could definitely feel it though. lol). It’s fresh, sweet, and hits all the right notes for a summer cocktail. Obviously, I had to share it on the blog.

I don’t think I am ever going to be the type of gal that sips on a glass of whiskey, but I could definately get used to drinking these Peach Bourbon Margarita’s all summer long.

🛒 Peach Bourbon Margarita Ingredient List

  • Peach: You only need one to make two cocktails.
  • Bourbon: You can’t go wrong with Buffalo Trace which is smooth, balanced, and just sweet enough to let the peach shine (plus, it’s Brant’s favorite). But if you want something a little more floral and citrus-friendly, Four Roses Small Batch brings those fruity notes that play perfectly with fresh lime and peach.
  • Orange juice: Opt for real orange juice, not the sugary concentrate.
  • Lime juice: I suggest squeezing these on your own verses using a bottle.
  • Ice
  • Peach slice (for garnish)

🥣 Visual Process For Making A Peach Bourbon Margarita

Alright, let’s make the perfect frozen peach bourbon margarita: slushy, sippable, and summer-ready!

Blend Peaches

Start by grabbing a ripe peach. Slice it open, remove the pit, and toss the whole thing, peel and all, into your blender. No need to peel it; the skin blends right in and adds a little extra color and flavor. Blend on high until it’s smooth and velvety. This peach purée is the flavor base for your cocktail, so don’t skip this step or settle for chunky bits.

Add Bourbon

Next, add your bourbon, orange juice, lime juice, and a generous scoop of ice. Pop the lid on and blend it all up until the mixture is smooth, thick, and slushy just the right texture for a frozen cocktail that goes down easy but still packs a punch.

Blend Peach Bourbon Margarita

Once it’s blended to perfection, pour it into a rocks glass (or whatever you’ve got, no judgment).

Garnish with a peach slice on top for a pretty little finishing touch. Serve it up immediately while it’s icy cold and enjoy every peachy sip!

Can I leave the peach peel on when blending?

Yes! We left the peel on, and it blended beautifully. The skin adds color, nutrients, and a little extra texture that works perfectly in a frozen drink. Just make sure your peach is ripe and washed well.

Can I batch this cocktail ahead of time for a party?

Yep. Blend everything but the ice and store it in the fridge for a few hours. When it’s time to serve, just blend each portion with ice as needed to keep it nice and slushy without watering it down.

Does it actually taste like bourbon?

Surprisingly, not really! The peach and citrus mellow it out. You’ll definitely feel the bourbon (lol), but the taste is subtle, especially if you use a smooth one like Buffalo Trace or Four Roses.

Peach Bourbon Margarita Serving Suggestions

This peach bourbon margarita is basically summer in a glass, so it makes sense to serve it alongside food that feels just as sunny and fun. I love it with grilled meats. Think BBQ chicken, smoky pork tenderloin, or even bourbon-glazed ribs. The sweet, peachy cocktail balances out all that savory richness perfectly. It also pairs like a dream with Chili Lime Steak tacos, especially ones with a little kick. Try it with shrimp tacos, spicy chicken, or carnitas, and don’t be afraid to add a fresh peach or mango salsa on top to tie the flavors together.

If you’re going for something lighter, a crisp summer salad with arugula, grilled peaches, goat cheese, and candied pecans works beautifully. It’s refreshing, colorful, and makes the cocktail shine even more. Or go full snack mode and set out a cheese board with sharp cheddar, creamy brie, some peach jam, toasted nuts, and a handful of crackers are all you need. And yes, this drink plays well with dessert too. Something like a peach crisp or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of caramel sauce would be chef’s kiss.
