Creamy Greek Yogurt Coleslaw

This creamy Greek yogurt coleslaw is crisp, tangy, and lightly sweet—perfect for BBQs, tacos, sandwiches, or an easy make-ahead side dish.

👩‍🍳 Creamy Greek Yogurt Coleslaw – Light, Crunchy

This coleslaw is one of those super simple sides that somehow ends up stealing the show. It’s crunchy, creamy, a little tangy, and just sweet enough without being over the top. I use Greek yogurt to lighten it up a bit, but there’s still a touch of mayo in there to keep it feeling classic. The monk fruit sweetener adds a nice balance without using sugar, and that little hit of celery seed at the end? Totally optional, but it gives it that nostalgic deli slaw vibe.

This is the kind of recipe you can throw together in a few minutes and stash in the fridge while you prep the rest of dinner. It’s even better after it chills for a bit, so don’t skip that part—it really lets the flavors come together.

Can I use regular sugar instead of monk fruit sweetener?

Totally. Swap in 1½ teaspoons of granulated sugar or honey if that’s what you have on hand. This coleslaw is super flexible.

Can I use shredded cabbage instead of coleslaw mix?

For sure. Just slice up some green and purple cabbage (and maybe a carrot or two) if you’re going DIY. It’s a great way to use up what you’ve got in the fridge.

Serving Suggestions

This slaw plays well with just about everything. I love it piled onto pulled pork sandwiches, tucked into fish tacos, or spooned alongside grilled chicken or ribs. It adds that perfect creamy crunch to balance out smoky or spicy flavors.

It’s also a great make-ahead side for picnics, potlucks, or casual dinners. If you’re doing something like BBQ chicken, burgers, or anything with a little heat, this cool, crisp slaw is such a good contrast. And hey, if you’ve got leftovers, toss some onto a wrap or bowl the next day—it holds up really well!

Side dishes you should know exist

If you’re into easy, flavorful sides like this creamy coleslaw, you’re gonna love mixing it up with some of these other favorites. Think vibrant and fresh, like a floating salad with cucumbers and tomatoes bobbing in a tangy vinaigrette, or a tropical twist with coconut lime slaw that’s bright and citrusy with a hint of sweetness. Coconut rice or pineapple fried rice is perfect when you want something comforting but a little fun and unexpected—especially with grilled meats or spicy dishes.

Feeling more veggie-forward? Try roasted turmeric vegetables for something warm and golden with a little earthy kick, or sautéed Swiss chard or collard greens when you want a more classic Southern side.

And don’t sleep on the loaded salads—Greek chickpea salad, street corn salad, or a sweet corn and peach fiesta salad all bring bold flavors and colors to the table.

Oh, and if you’re craving something rich and satisfying, that loaded potato salad or broccoli salad packed with cheddar, cranberries, apples, and bacon is a total crowd-pleaser. Basically, if your plate needs a little color, crunch, or creamy comfort—there’s a side dish here for it.
